I can’t believe I’m still coughing from today. Its been 5 hours x___x
I dunno. Maybe its cuz I haven’t spent this much time on campus yet. But it seemed like every few yards there was some person with a cigarette blowing the smoke here and there and everywhere. And a lot of times, it’d be right when I went around a corner or doubled back (I got lost a lot today…) so basically I got cigarette smoke blown into my face about three or four times today.
Breathing in even a little bit of cigarette smoke can send me into a coughing fit (the smell is just so…ugggh. It makes me feel so sick), so breathing in a lungful of that stuff didn’t really make me feel all that great…still, I tried to pretend like I wasn’t choking ‘cuz I know that most people get really offended by that (and the fact that most of the smokers were huge scary looking guys at least a foot taller than me? Yea. Like I’m gonna intentionally try to anger them)
Bleh. It feels like the smell of cigarette smoke is trapped in my throat…since this morning I’ve felt like I’m choking from the air around me.
…maybe I should just start wearing air masks when I walk around campus =.=
I had a tiny (perspective…) spaz fit in the middle of my Chem hw…
I’ve been working for about 2 hours straight doing this stupid ARIS assignment (its only 36 questions…plus is all time consuming crap problems worth a lot of points, so its just really frustrating and annoying), mostly where I just have to wait for the problem to load. Well, what happened was…it froze. And I heard that if you don’t complete it doesn’t save all your past work, so basically, if I try to refresh the page or restart the program, there’s a chance that I’ll lose all my 2 hours of work.
So what did I do?
I screamed at my computer a mixture of “WHYYYYY“‘s and “IF YOU DIE I WILL KILL YOU YOU STUPID PROGRAM” and many, many variations of “RAAAAAAAWRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH”
So…I opened up my Chem book to start the first assignment (read ch. 1 and 2), highlighters, sticky notes, and colored pens ready. And then I realized…I couldn’t mark up my book. Its too pretty. And I know it sounds weird, but even though most of my books are used (minus my CAT books), they look so nice and neat and…after 12 years of being taught not to write in textbooks…its hard to break.
Bleh. I’m gonna have to lose this soon or I’ll fail all my classes x___x
I was planning on arriving kinda early to my classes so I’d get good seats…but that idea died pretty quickly.
Commuting = buses. Sometimes, very unreliable buses. That are not the best idea to take when you’re late, but probably more practical considering the sheer distances between commuter parking lots and actual classes (stupid UCSD campus designers…x___x)
I ended up speed walking/sprinting to my CHEM6A lecture in York. Luckily, he didn’t take attendance today, and it looks like he was expecting ppl to be late, or I’d assume considering there were what…30 students hanging out in the back of the lecture hall. He seems interesting enough. Talked about the syllabus, made a few jokes…I just hope he doesn’t turn out to be as bad as Kev said he was…
40 minutes to get to my MATH20B lecture. I originally thought I’d find my classroom then grab a bite to eat or something, but that kinda feel through too, as I went in the completely opposite direction for about 10 minutes, attempted and failed to backtrack to York for another 15, and eventually managed to sprint to the APM building just in time for the last discussion group to leave the classroom. Met with the TA, who, although he didn’t seem too sure about what he was doing, was really funny and I’m actually looking forward to the next discussion class. The material for this one was actually pretty boring…it was all review I didn’t really need, I still remember it all from last year.
1:50, 10 minutes to sprint to Solis. Almost got lost (some guy pointed me in the wrong direction but luckily I saw Peterson and figured it out). Somehow I got a front row seat, and she started the lecture, mostly focusing on Plato and rhetoric. It actually sounds like a really, easy, interesting class (I’ll probably stop thinking its easy once the work part actually starts…), and Losh is such a cool professor :D
Oh, and weird thing is, the weather is seriously having issues lately. Its soooo cold…I’ve told so many people that the weather here can get really bipolar, switching between our two seasons of foggy/overcast and sunny hot, but I don’t think any of them believe me anymore cuz its always overcast at UCSD XD
kk seriously, I think people are going through my stuff when I'm not home
When I get home, sometimes things aren’t where I left them, sometimes I’ll remember exactly where I put something, then come home to realize that its not there or anywhere else it could potentially be, sometimes I open my computer and realize some of my tabs are closed or on a different url…
uuuuugh I want my stuff back at the very least TT TT
Lol, just to clarify I only know because I’ve heard people talking about UCSD hidden art and stuff.
So yea. I’ve found most of the stuff I’ve heard of - the unopened door in the Art stairway, the the creepy old TVs statues over in Marshall, the mural in front of Peterson Hill, the singing tree and the talking tree, the snake path, and so on so forth.
Regrettably, the only one that I’ve heard of that I haven’t found yet is…the lightsaber wall. Still searching XD
So today’s my 4th official day on campus. And there’s one thing I’m finding really, really, really weird.
I’m seeing you guys all over this place.
Lol. I sound crazy.
Obviously, you guys aren’t really here. But I look at people, and my immediate reaction is “OMG LOOK ITS SQUISHY—wait, no its not…wth .___.”
So far, I’ve seen Mushie, Po, Squishy, Honey, Yuriplast, Sparkly, TED AND WES (lol, really though, I thought that guy working at TapEx really was Wes), Shuang, and Potaeho clones. Omg. From the back, the Mushie clone seriously looks like Mushie. On the first day I almost tackled her for a daily glomp before realizing that it wasn’t her…and then the Shuang clone. Whoa. Seriously. If I didn’t know better I’d really think that she was Shuang playing a prank on me or something. She has the same face, talks the same, dresses the same. she even likes most of the stuff Shuang likes…the only difference I’ve found so far is that she’s Japanese.
Its kinda a weird experience. I’m wondering if I just miss you guys so much that I’m starting to project you on random students here.
On another note, there’s a birdie in the Price Center. I think it likes it here…it keeps coming back. DON’T HIT THE WINDOW BIRDIE TT TT
